A downloadable game for Windows and Linux

Your last delivery of the day: take a package to a disused cemetary.

This is a simple, short Halloween themed demo of a small raycaster engine I've been working on. Please enjoy the spooky atmosphere but don't expect a full game!

Ended up playing the Windows version through Wine because I couldn’t get the Linux version to work:

➜  A_Final_Delivery_Linux64 ./a_final_delivery
INFO: Initializing raylib 3.0
WARNING: GLFW: Error: 65544 Description: Wayland: Failed to connect to display
WARNING: GLFW: Failed to initialize GLFW
INFO: TIMER: Target time per frame: 16.667 milliseconds
INFO: FILEIO: [Assets/YoungSerif-Regular.otf] File loaded successfully
[1]    47050 segmentation fault (core dumped)  ./a_final_delivery

I’m using KDE Plasma with X so I’m not sure why Wayland is mentioned here…

Thanks for the report. Linux binary distribution is pretty much an unknown to me, I definitely need to invest some time into a more robust way of sharing linux builds

No problem, I’d be happy to assist if you need help testing on Linux

Awesome game! Loved the atmosphere and the music. Puzzles were very clever!

Thanks Ryan!

Cool short project of a game, The graphics for this game is what caught my attention. Wish there was more to this game, like the the abandon factory that's by the rusted gate, wanted to see what was in there. But it's not bad and I liked it, I made a video of me playing it here, which is the first game. Game Starts at 00:42

nice! you're the first person I've seen play the game and not find the key to the lock

I did not realize about the key now that I saw someone else do a playthrough on it... Oh my I thought there was no way to enter in, clever.

An interesting littel game. Had fun testing it.

I dunno if anyone has asked you this but will you also release this game on steam?

This is the whole game, made for a jam. I don't think anyone needs this on steam

I do

Was a really fun game! The way that one has to play both endings to get the full story was well done and I think that the story was really interesting and pretty good! The overall tone of the game was perfect and matched the environment really well. The noises were well put and the graveyard was really spooky and well made!

Great game overall and good luck on future projects!

Thank you for the experience! Some great puzzles and awesome Blood-like vibe! Here's my little playthrough (Polish language) Cheers!

Haha, great video! Thanks for playing. There are mouse sensitivity settings in the menu if you found turning too fast, and one tiny secret easteregg (also in the menu)

😊👍

Nice one, thanks for playing

I really like it, amazing job Voxel

Cheers bud

A tough journey

Thanks for playing my little halloween game :)

Ooo, spooky and mysterious. I like it.

Thanks for playing, sorry there was no-one to bonk, and that you didn't find Bob.

BOB?

I cannot seem to get the Linux version working! Shucks :(

That's not a lot of information to go on, but I have just uploaded an updated linux version that fixes not being able to locate the raylib dependency, might fix your problem

It almost does, a GLFW static lib is now required.

./a_final_delivery: error while loading shared libraries: libglfw.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

libglfw.so.3: No such file or directory

missing from this list of shared libraries:

$ ldd ./a_final_delivery
    linux-vdso.so.1 (0x00007ffca883b000)
    libraylib.so.301 => ./libraylib.so.301 (0x00007fde57ae6000)
    libm.so.6 => /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libm.so.6 (0x00007fde5796c000)
    libc.so.6 => /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6 (0x00007fde57782000)
    libpthread.so.0 => /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libpthread.so.0 (0x00007fde57760000)
    /lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2 (0x00007fde57d4c000)
    libglfw.so.3 => not found

I know it's annoying but I can't package the entire dependency tree

Don't need to, and some software libraries even forbid you.  For other people who find this thread,  I can leave instructions.
I had to go to  https://www.glfw.org/download.html to get the missing libglfw.so for Windows or MacOS.  On Debian (including Ubuntu and Mint) try `apt install libglfw3`  On Redhat (including Fedora and CentOS) try `yum install glfw`

Thanks for your suggestions!

Nicely done, it does kind of feel like if there was a spooky "walking simulator" made during the DOS era!

Delivered the package, felt very good about it.

thank you for your hard work

Loved it. The atmosphere is spot on, reminiscent of older games I played in my childhood. The premise pulled me in immediately, and the story arc made me chuckle. The sound effects and music are particularly impressive, and the humour is great; there are also some interesting tricks in there that I haven't seen elsewhere. I don't know if voxel intends to turn this into a full game but I'd buy it for sure.

you're definitely getting upgraded to a deluxe tombstone if there's an update, thanks toasty

I concur, I would definitely buy a full game in the same vein

two confirmed customers, just one more and the game is commercially viable

A Final Delivery (win).zip is not commonly downloaded and may be dangerous.

that is so spooky
