(MSDOS) DISKSWEEPER
A downloadable game for Windows
An entry for Dos Game Jam August 2022! Play the MS-DOS version in DOSBOX, or use the version I've pre-bundled with dosbox for your convenience.
It's your first day at your new job as a DISKSWEEPER - repairing damaged disks through everyone's favourite deductive puzzle game. Clear the disks for three customers and enjoy the visual-novel style interface.
Controls are explained ingame, but as a reference for the DISKSWEEPING minigame:
Left/Right: spin disk. (A and D also work if you prefer)
Left mouse: reveal a disk sector. If it's a mine you lose. If there are any mines adjacent to the cell you click, a number will appear - that's how many mines are in the neighbouring sectors! Use this to figure out where the mines must be. Or guess!
Right mouse: designate a suspected mine sector.
To quit: press the ingame QUIT button, then press ESCAPE from the titlescreen.
Update (08-Sep-22): Sweeper minigame was only rotatable with A/D, fixed left/right cursor keys to also rotate as per ingame instructions
Update(20-Mar-24): Fixed a dialogue crash

Short and sweet, I enjoyed the game quite a bit! The sound effects made me jump regardless of if I failed or succeeded in the sweeping :D
Thanks, it was very lovely to play on my 486 PC! I understand the game is short, but I still wish there was an option to save the game.
P.S. 1000000x times better than MS Minesweeper for Windows 8+.
This looks so nice! I will be trying this on my old Windows and DOS pc's soon!
This was cute! Thanks for making it.
