Made in one evening for One Hour Game Jam 469 for the theme 'weather'. I definitely didn't finish within an hour!

How to play:
Navigate the perilous and mysterious Windstorm Reef in your fragile sailboat. Anchor at the ports to receive a new destination.

Turn your vessel with left and right. Best speeds are achieved when moving at right angles from the wind. If the wind direction is against you, try zigzagging or anchoring in shallow waters until a more favourable wind blows. If you're playing in the browser, Z or X will use the anchor.

You cannot anchor in deep water. Anchor while well centred on a dock square to complete a mission. Avoid rocks, solid land, the edges of the map - all are deadly.

Wind indicators blow across the world, showing you the direction and strength of the windstorm. Good luck!

Am I absolutely terrible at this?  Yeah.  Did I have a fun time being terrible at it?  Also yeah!  Didn't even realize this was one of your games until I saw the VXL in the middle of the map haha

I'd be super suspicious of anyone who claimed to be good  at this game. I made it super fast and it tries to use a bit of 'sailing theory', so between the bugs and the necessity to move at angles against the wind, the game is pretty hard. Thanks for playing though :D

I think the best I got was... 1 island for a destination, and then reaching that destination to get a 2nd one... the I crashed into rocks lol.

The wind direction and sailing theory is super awesome, though.  It keeps things interesting and adds a fun challenge to it all.  Would be cool if there was a practice mode that completely opened the middle section of the map.  I think that would really help get a feel for the basic controls and concept.

I really like the focus of this little game, well done! I'm really bad at it though, I reached the first port so far. I'm no sailor I fear. But I'll try again!
